The Best Chinese Food Around....Overseas Restaurant!

One of our favorite places to eat when we are staying at our condo is Overseas Restaurant.  I know... it is a rather boring name for a really great place to eat Chinese food.  It is actually located in Carlsbad at 2820 Roosevelt Avenue; off of Grand, two blocks north on Roosevelt.  (Across from Hennessey's Tavern.)

You won't find it by its fashy exterior or if you are looking for huge signs out front.  It is rather obscure, tucked back in a corner of a rather drab little streatch of office buildings. 

It is authentic Chinese food and really yummy!  We love the Cashew Nut Chicken and the Crispy Beef but, anything you order is going to be great!

Here in Oceanside

With our condo being rented for June, July and part of August we decided to block out a couple of days for ourselves, and I'm glad we did! 

We drove into town yesterday and spent the night here, last night.  June is not the best time for sunshine in California because of "June Gloom" but, it is still nice and warm, the flowers are still out, and the air feels good.   We are getting ready to take a walk on the beach after a little breakfast. 

I am finding out what it is like to be a renter here.  Everything I need is no longer in the cupboards and drawers, it is in my suitcase.  The fridge is empty, too.  I have to plan ahead what I want to eat, then run to Ralph's to stock up.  By the way, to get to Ralph's, jump on the freeway going South towards San Diego and get off at the very next exit - Oceanside Blvd.  Go East and Ralph's is right there on your left.

Jim is waiting for me to take our morning walk, so I need to go.  I really do love being here!

LEGOLAND

Legoland, in Carlsbad, California is less than 7.5 miles from our Oceanside condo.  It takes about 15 minutes to get there.  If your kids are anything like mine were when they were younger, they love playing with legos!

 Imaging how much fun they would have at Legoland.  You would have a great time too because, after all, aren't we all just grown-up kids? 

When you reserve your dates for the condo remember to include Legoland in your travel itinerary.  It's so close that you will still have time to hit the beach.  Speaking of which, don't forget to pick up some logs at the convenience store for your bonfire at the beach.  Roasting hot dogs and marshmallows at the beach is almost as tasty as a corn roast with sea water.  But, I'll blog about that another time.

Palm Trees & Gorgeous Flowers!

I love Southern California's cool summer breezes, perfect temperatures, beautiful beaches, palm trees, and the gorgeous flowers!  The flowers are one of my favorite things about San Diego! I love the colorful bougainvillea and the honeysuckel smells wonderful! 

The palm trees remind me that I am "not in Kansas anymore" and that I am on vacation!  The summer is filling up fast.  Contact us soon to reserve your dates in August. 

June and July are Booked!

June and July are completely booked! We are still wide open for August though so contact us ASAP.  And, it's not too early to be thinking about September.  It's a beautiful month in California and the best part is, the local kids are back in school so there is less traffic, shorter lines at Disneyland, things aren't as crowded and the beach is still sunny and warm!

Looking ahead....  Thanksgiving is the least crowded time of the year at Disneyland.  Reserve the dates with us now and relax knowing you won't be in the cold and snow this year!

The Weeks Are Filling Up Fast!

The weeks are filling up fast!  We have a couple of days left in the month of June and a couple of weeks left in the month of July.  These won't last long.  August is still wide open so if you hurry you can still reserve a spot. 

Money is tight for everyone, (that's why we're renting our condo) but "together time" is still important.  Now you can vacation on a budget.  With the money you save by renting our condo you will have money left over to see all there is to see in sunny, Southern California.  Or, you can spend your vacation at the pool or beach which doesn't cost anything.  (OK, you might have to pay for parking.)

Come stay in our Oceanside condo.  It's close to everything and the price is right!

We are ready to rent for the summer again!

We have a great deal going on Craigslist right now. You can stay for $75 a night with a three night minimum or for $450 you can stay a whole week! It is, by far, the best deal in, not only Oceanside but, all of San Diego County... maybe even all of California.
